Sustainable grocery delivery service Modern Milkman has appointed Anwar Sultan as Chief Growth & Commercial Officer.
Sultan joins from Ello Group, where he led digital and strategy. Prior to that he worked at THG.
The Modern Milkman recently raised £50m in Series C funding and Sultan has been recruited to drive the UK and global business.
In response to the job announcement, co-founder Simon Mellin posted on LinkedIn: “Welcome to the team. Excited to see what we can achieve this year.”
Mellin was inspired to set up The Modern Milkman after he and three friends watched an episode of Sir David Attenborough’s cult BBC series Blue Planet.
The entrepreneur comes from a farming background and was shocked at how single use plastics were killing animals and choking the environment.
The company witnessed 1,000% growth in 2020 as their mission to reuse packaging and deliver fresh ways for consumers to shop ethically and sustainably resonated with the public.
Founded in Colne, Lancashire, The Modern Milkman has reinvented the traditional milk round through an easy-to-use app – using data and analytics to map out milk rounds, assess demand and reduce waste through its delivery of fresh grocery products.
