Nexteq PLC, a supplier of displays to the gaming and industrial sectors, has appointed one of its non-executive directors as non-executive chair.

Carol Thompson will take on the role and replaces Francis Small, who announced his intentions to leave the Cambridge-based firm in July amid a c-suite exodus.

Since Small’s departure, Nick Jarmany has served as interim chair.

He will remain on the board of Nexteq PLC in the capacity of non-executive deputy chair and will act as a mentor to the technology leadership in the business.

Thompson has been a member of the board since September 2022, serving as audit and risk committee chair and as a member of the remuneration committee.

She has previously served as CFO at Genting Casinos, Tote and Electricity North West.

The appointment comes after a rocky year for the listed firm.

This time last year, on 2nd April 2024, the firm’s share price was 155p. As of today it stands at less than half of that – at 64p.
