Leeds-based tech innovation consultancy Parallax has grown its headcount significantly in the first quarter of 2026, with 30 new team members joining to support growing client demand.
The expansion marks the company’s most significant period of growth to date, following a strong 2025 in which Parallax secured 25 new clients and set its highest ever financial forecast for the year ahead.
The firm says the new hires – a mix of designers, full stack engineers, and product and delivery specialists – will strengthen Parallax’s core service offering, with a particular focus on AI innovation.
They will support projects across a range of sectors including environmental technology, gaming, financial services and logistics.
The new team members also introduce new technical capabilities to the business, including 3D rendering expertise, as Parallax expands its support for clients in this space.
Among the senior appointments are Jamie Manson and Tom Parrish, who join as principal tech leads. Both bring extensive experience in software development and have managed engineering teams of 50+ people. They will play a key role in leading new client accounts.
As part of its ongoing commitment to developing early-career talent, three of the new hires have joined in graduate or internship roles. Parallax has an established partnership with the University Technical College Leeds and the University of Leeds to attract and retain emerging tech talent in the city.
A further three graduates are due to join the company later this year, after Parallax witnessed their skills in practice at the Parallax-sponsored Leeds Hack event in February.
Parallax’s growth is part of a wider success story for the Leeds tech sector. Research by The Data City last year showed that the region’s tech sector is growing 125% faster than the national average, with a 46% increase in tech roles in recent years.
“This is a hugely exciting time for Parallax as we reach a real inflection point in our growth,” said Sophie Fletcher, commercial director at Parallax.
“We’re winning work with ambitious international clients, including unicorn companies, and tackling complex challenges that require deep technical expertise and the ability to learn and adapt quickly, bringing insights from rapidly emerging technologies.
“That’s exactly the space we want to operate in, and it’s driving the kind of talent we’re bringing into the business.
“We’re also proud to be creating opportunities for people in Leeds and playing a part in strengthening the city’s tech ecosystem.”
