A graduate and student recruitment platform has appointed James Bennett as its Chief Executive.

London-based Debut welcomes Bennett and his more than 20 years in the digital space.

Well acquainted with the recruitment technology landscape, his appointment is part of Debut’s wider strategy for growth.

Prior to eFinancial Careers, a leading recruitment technology firm, where he held the position of Global Managing Director, Bennett held the CTO position with Virgin Wines, building on his origins in technical and operations roles for the likes of UBS and thestreet.co.uk.

“Having been fortunate to work for some of the leading recruitment technology players in my career, I am really excited to join a business that is disrupting an entire sector of the market,” said Bennett.

“Debut has already made a great start and we see a fantastic opportunity to continue scaling aggressively. As a parent of two teenagers about to enter the world of work, this mission couldn’t be closer to my heart.”

To date Debut has raised over £7.3 million from notable investors such as former Dragon’s Den and recruitment entrepreneur James Caan CBE.

The Debut platform has over 130,000 candidates using it and employers such as Cisco, EY, Barclays, Capgemini, Rolls-Royce, L’Oréal, and Vodafone on board.

Michele Trusolino, Co-founder and COO added: “To say we’re excited to welcome James to the business is an understatement. He is extremely passionate about being part of the next phase of Debut’s growth and this shows what an amazing company we’ve built so far and the size of the opportunity we see in disrupting early talent recruitment.
