FinTechAppointments

Newcastle-based payments reconciliation and reporting platform Kani Payments has appointed Panos Savvas as its new CTO.

The appointment follows the FinTech’s multimillion Series A funding in February and comes as it looks to drive the next phase of its platform evolution and scale.

The company is also expanding its global client base and Savvas brings over 20 years of experience leading product and engineering teams around the world.

He has held senior roles at both high-growth startups and global institutions, leading platform overhauls and scaling cloud-first infrastructure.

Most recently, he founded and successfully exited a FinTech venture focused on real-time financial data solutions.

“There’s a clear opportunity here to build the most trusted source of truth for payments data,” he said.

“Kani already has a strong foundation, trusted partnerships and serious momentum. My focus is on scaling what already works, embedding more deeply into client workflows and setting new standards for what intelligent payments infrastructure should deliver.”

In his new role, Savvas will lead Kani’s technology strategy, focusing on platform scalability, real-time analytics and data quality. He will also work to deepen Kani’s role within client ecosystems.

Aaron Holmes, CEO of Kani Payments, added: “Panos brings the right mix of deep technical leadership, product vision and international experience.

“He understands the complexity of financial infrastructure and how to make it scalable and resilient. His appointment is a huge moment for Kani as we continue to grow.”
