HSBC has strengthened its retail banking and wealth management digital team with three new appointments.

The bank has appointed Jesper With-Fogstrup as global head of digital; Kate Simon as global head of commercialisation and Phil Fearnley as head of strategic and organisational development.

With-Fogstrup joins from Comparethemarket.com, where he was chief operating officer, and will be responsible for the team delivering business and customer growth through digital experiences. This includes digital acquisition, content management, messaging and optimisation.

Simon joins from The Walt Disney Company where she had global responsibility for growth strategies and business performance of “DisneyLife”.

She previously worked for consumer tech start-ups and corporates including blinkbox Entertainment Group, Majestic Wine and Dixons Carphone.

Meanwhile, Fearnley has over 30 years of experience in digital tech strategy development and delivery. Prior roles include digital director for the BBC, where he oversaw innovative and complex digital projects including leading the development of the original BBC iPlayer.

All three are based in the UK and will report to Josh Bottomley, global head of digital, data and development for HSBC’s RBWM business.

“Between them they bring a wealth of experience in digital and ecommerce across a number of different industries which will be crucial as we continue to enhance our digital capabilities globally, improving the experience for millions of customer around the world,” said Bottomley.

HSBC’s digital team has grown to over 5,500 worldwide and the bank is currently recruiting more than 1,000 roles to support its digital evolution globally.
