Glasgow university spinout plans international expansion

A Glaswegian company developing customer relationship management software has secured part of a £36 million loan offered by the Scottish Government.

The programme, designed to encourage small and medium sized enterprises to capitalise on advances in digital technology has offered VeryConnect, a spinout of the University of Glasgow, to receive a £50,000 digital development loan.

The Scottish company is one of many on the programme, which is designed encourage small and medium sized enterprises to capitalise on advances in digital technology.

Founded by Simon Jouet and Kyle White after spinning out of the University of Glasgow in 2013, it has since grown to serve customers in 10 countries.

The firm hopes to use the funding to achieve a 90 per cent faster client response rate while helping it speed up the development of new product features.

“We are delighted to have been selected to receive a £50,000 Digital Development Loan,” said White.

“We have a strong sales pipeline and this capital will help us to invest in bringing the right expertise into our team earlier than we could have otherwise.”
