The CEO of magazine publisher Future is to stand down from April and become chair of Trustpilot.

Zillah Byng-Thorne will succeed Tim Weller, who won’t seek re-election as a director at the company’s annual general meeting in May after serving as chair for a decade.

Former Buzzfeed COO and Mail Online North America CEO Jon Steinberg will take over as CEO at Future.

Byng-Thorne is already an independent non-executive director at Trustpilot, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, but listed in London. She is also a NED at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

“I am pleased to succeed Tim as chair of the company – Trustpilot has an important part to play in promoting trust in the online economy, and I look forward to continuing my work with the board and the management team to ensure that we make further progress against our strategy and towards achieving our mission and purpose,” she said.

CEO Peter Mühlmann added: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Tim for all his hard work, oversight, and leadership during his ten-year tenure as chair of Trustpilot.

“Under his guidance, Trustpilot has grown significantly and achieved a number of important milestones, including a successful IPO in 2021.

“I am delighted that we have found such a strong successor in Zillah, and I look forward to continuing to work with her on the profitable long-term growth of the business.”
