PrivateDoc, a provider of digital healthcare solutions, has appointed Wais Shaifta as its new CEO.

Shaifta has held a variety of executive, operational and leadership roles in eCommerce and healthcare businesses.

As the former CEO at Push Doctor – the UK’s first platform to provide video consultations via a smartphone – Shaifta worked in partnership with the NHS to connect thousands of patients each week with clinicians.

Before joining Push Doctor – acquired by Square Health last year but still operating as a standalone brand – Shaifta was director of global operations at Treatwell, prior to which he was international operations director at Just Eat.

“I am honoured to lead PrivateDoc into its next phase of growth”, said Shaifta. “PrivateDoc’s commitment to revolutionising healthcare aligns with my own passion for improving patient experiences and outcomes.

“Together, we will continue to drive excellence and help our customers be the best version of themselves.”

Shaifta is also a non-executive director and chair of the sustainability committee of The Gym Group plc, a non-executive director and member of the board for Reach plc and an operating partner for Samaipata.

PrivateDoc’s digital online clinic caters for the needs of lifestyle conditions under the guidance of the Care Quality Commission.

Founded in 2013, the Suffolk-based e-Health firm provides digital healthcare solutions for patients with sensitive issues that can often be hard to discuss with a GP, or those services that are not supported by the NHS.

Paul Marshall, director at PrivateDoc, added: “Wais is an accomplished leader with a remarkable track record.

“His appointment comes at a pivotal time as PrivateDoc continues to expand its services and reach, providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to our customers.”
