Leeds City Council’s chief digital information officer Dylan Roberts, former Apprentice contestant Alex Epstein and boss of edtech start-up Synap James Gupta are among the speakers confirmed to speak at the “How can Leeds win the tech race?” event in October.

BusinessCloud has teamed up with regional property firm Bruntwood to shine a light on the West Yorkshire hub’s digital and tech credentials and how the city is overcoming its recruitment challenges.

With 1,350 digital companies employing 10,000 people, the city is already a heavyweight in the UK’s tech landscape but the competition has never been hotter.

Leeds is riding the crest of a digital wave, but how can it win the tech race?

The breakfast event is taking place on Tuesday 2nd October at 3 Sovereign Street in Leeds City Centre and will hear from some of the leading lights in the city’s digital industry.

Epstein, chief marketing officer at Big Change Apps; and Gupta, founder and chief executive of Synap, are two of eight speakers who have so far been confirmed to speak at the event.

They will be joined by Graham Pearce, head of TMT corporate finance for KPMG and Ellie MacDonald, managing director of PR and communications firm MacComms.

The attendees will also be hearing from Richard Ellis, managing principal of digital retail at software firm Answer Digital; Crisp Thinking CEO Adam Hildreth; and Mark Fordyce, managing director of York Data Services.

The event will be hosted by BusinessCloud editor Chris Maguire and will start at 8am (7.30am) registrations.
