The cryptocurrency market crashed in the last 24 hours, shedding more than 8% of its overall value.

All the major coins were hit, with both Solana (SOL) and Polkadot (DOT) dropping 12%.

At the time of writing (7am UK), SOL is at $149, which leaves it 13% down in a week.

DOT dropped to almost $26 and is 4% down on last Thursday.

Avalanche (AVAX) lost 11% to stand below $94 and is 8% down in a week.

ETH, the world’s second most valuable coin, fell 10% to below $3,450 with its seven-day price down 7%.

Terra (LUNA) also dropped 10% to below $77 – 8% down on last Thursday – while Cardano (ADA) is at $1.22 following a 9% drop, down 9% in a week.

Ripple (XRP) shed 9% to around 76 cents and is also 9% down over seven days, while Binance Coin (BNB) is at $468 following its own 9% drop and is 10% down in a week.

 

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) fell 7% towards $43,000, which leaves it 8% down over seven days.

Meme coin Dogecoin and its Ethereum-based spinoff SHIBA INU dropped 8% and 9% respectively, with DOGE now below 16c. They are 9% and 11% down over seven days.

The overall market cap of the more than 16,400 coins is at $2.05 trillion.
