Ethereum and Cardano both rose 2% in the last 24 hours as the overall cryptocurrency market dropped almost 1%.

ETH, the world’s second most valuable coin, is above $3,800 at the time of writing (7am UK) and more or less where it was a week ago. ADA is at $1.34, 6% down on last Wednesday.

Terra (LUNA), dropped 3% to around $85.50 – where it was a week ago – while Ripple (XRP) rose 1% but remains around 83 cents, down 2% over seven days.

Solana (SOL) climbed 1% to $170, which leaves it 4% down in a week, while a slight gain for Binance Coin (BNB) puts it at $513, 4% down over seven days.

Polkadot (DOT), one of only two major coins to gain value over the Christmas holidays – with LUNA being the other – remains just below $30 and is 6% up on last Wednesday.

 

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) grew slightly to just below $46,400, which leaves it 3% down over seven days, while Avalanche (AVAX) remains at $106, 2% down in a week.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) and its Ethereum-based spinoff SHIBA INU (SHIB) both remained static over the last 24 hours and are 3% and 8% down over seven days respectively.

Internet Computer (ICP) was the biggest winner among the top 100 coins, growing 23% to $35.82, which leaves it 44% up over seven days.

The only coins to drop more than 5% were Amp (AMP) and IOTA (MIOTA).

The overall market cap of the almost 16,400 coins is at $2.23 trillion, down 0.9% in the last 24 hours.
