Bitcoin dropped 2% in the last 24 hours but the overall cryptocurrency market held firm.
Market leader BTC fell from $57,300 on Monday morning to below $56,400 at the time of writing (7am UK).
That is close to its position on Friday morning but 7% down on its seven-day price.
ETH, the world’s second most valuable crypto, is at $4,130 following a 1% fall in the last 24 hours.
The smart contract blockchain platform is 4% down on last Tuesday morning.
Solana (SOL) and Polkadot (DOT) each shed 1% to $217 and just above $39 respectively. They are down 4% and 6% over the last week.
Ripple’s XRP coin and Cardano (ADA) remained relatively static in the last 24 hours – at $1.04 and $1.79 respectively – and are both 7% down on their seven-day price.
Avalanche (AVAX) entered the top 10 most valuable coins over the weekend after professional services giant Deloitte announced it would build a disaster relief platform on its blockchain. It fell 2% in the last 24 hours to $132 and is 48% up in a week.
Its market cap is around $29.5 billion, $500m ahead of meme coin Dogecoin. DOGE is now below 22 cents following a slight fall and 11% down over seven days.
Its Ethereum-based spinoff SHIBA INU (SHIB) dropped 2%, which leaves it 15% down in a week and $5bn short of DOGE in terms of market cap.
A slight fall for Binance Coin (BNB) sees it sit at $565 – 6% down in a week.
The Sandbox (SAND) soared the most in the last 24 hours, 32%, which puts it at $5.32 and more than double its valuation last Tuesday morning.
Amp (AMP) enjoyed a 27% bump (24% over seven days) while Elrond (EGLD) grew 20% to $538 (78% over seven days).
ICON (ICX) and Stacks (STX) dropped the most, 10% and 9% respectively.
The overall market cap of the almost 14,700 coins stands at $2.55 trillion, down 0.8% in the last 24 hours.
