Experienced journalist Simon Binns has been promoted to managing editor of LADbible Group.
Binns, who has previously worked for a range of media organisations including the Manchester Evening News, CityCo Manchester, Estates Gazette and BBC, said he was looking forward to the new challenge.
He wrote: “I’ll be responsible for ensuring editorial excellence across LBG’s core web brands, with a particular focus on LADbible, UNILAD and Tyla and making sure each brand is delivering distinct best in class output.
“LADbible’s audience, reputation and content has grown and evolved over the last few years and I’m really proud to be a part of that.
As well as being a hugely respected journalist, Binns opened up in 2018 about his 25-year battle with depression and anxiety.
“Men need to start talking about their mental health problems,” he wrote in a blog. “It’s not a weakness and it affects more people than you think.”
Global challenges may force tech CEOs to ‘throttle back on growth’
In December 2021, the group behind LadBible and UNILAD, completed a £360m float on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM.
LBG Media, which is headquartered in Manchester, was co-founded in 2012 by chief executive Alexander (Solly) Solomou and chief operating officer Arian Kalantari while studying at university.
The company now has more than 262 million social media followers worldwide.
