Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett has joined Prince William on a trip to Aberdeen to support an initiative to tackle homelessness.

The tech entrepreneur and host of The Diary of a CEO podcast was asked by Prince William to become an ambassador for Homewards and encourage business leaders to support young people at risk of homelessness.

This week the pair headed to Scotland to meet local business leaders, charity representatives, and individuals directly affected by homelessness.

Bartlett has promised to use his platform to showcase the positive role and impact business can have in ending homelessness.

Prince William was also joined by Homewards advocate, Gail Porter, to meet one of the first residents to benefit from a new initiative to bring empty homes back into use for those at risk of homelessness.

Reflecting on the trip Bartlett said: “Today was one of the most surreal, inspiring, and proud days of my career.

“Homelessness is not simply a housing problem. Speaking directly with young people today, it became clear it’s a mental health challenge, a confidence and skills issue, often rooted in family breakdown and community support systems.”

Bartlett praised Prince William’s ability to unite various stakeholders around a shared vision.

“Prince William is incredibly kind, patient, hard-working, and deeply knowledgeable,” he said. “His strength lies in listening – not only to experts but, critically, to those who have lived experience.”

Homewards is a groundbreaking initiative launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation, dedicated to proving that homelessness in the UK can be permanently ended through strategic collaboration.
