Open banking payments network TrueLayer has strengthened its leadership team by appointing Lisa Scott as its first chief strategy officer.

Scott will oversee the company’s expansion into new markets, drive consumer engagement and accelerate the adoption of its innovative open banking solutions.

Scott joins TrueLayer from FinTech Banked, where she was appointed CEO for Europe just last year.

She has been deeply involved in the open banking sector and building out real-time capabilities, drawing on her extensive experience at PayPal, where she developed the UK credit product.

“We’re seeing a significant reduction in barriers to entry for open banking payments, which presents a tremendous opportunity to broaden the payments ecosystem across various verticals and bring alternative payment methods to consumers. This will be a major focus of my work,” said Scott.

“TrueLayer is not only at the forefront of introducing open banking to new markets, but also excels in enhancing user experiences with its payments solutions.”

Co-founder and CTO Luca Martinetti said: “Lisa’s exceptional track record in taking products to market and consumer engagement speaks for itself.

“We are determined to demonstrate the value of open banking and bank-app payments to consumers, and Lisa is the right person to help us do that.

“Her insights and leadership will be crucial as we continue to expand, explore new use cases and deepen customer engagement in the evolving financial landscape.”
