BAE Systems expert confirmed for manufacturing tech event

Technology

A key figure from BAE Systems is among the high-profile speakers who have confirmed for our ‘Tech in manufacturing’ breakfast in March.

Dave Holmes is manufacturing director at BAE Systems Military Air & Information, the air sector arm of the aerospace giant.

Technology is at the forefront of BAE Systems’ new £15.6m training academy at its site in Samlesbury, Lancashire, which will act as a collaborative skills-hub for the North West’s engineering and manufacturing sector while also training apprentices and graduates.

Holmes will be joined by Martin Strutt, consultancy director at manufacturers’ organisation EEF, Vikas Shah, CEO of textile firm Swiscot Group, and other key figures in UK manufacturing tech at the event on Tuesday March 7 in Manchester.

Manufacturing automation has a strong tradition in the North West while LCR 4.0 has been launched in Liverpool to help manufacturers in the region take advantage of digital technologies as Industry 4.0 gains traction.

The event will look at how technology can help manufacturers become the engine room of the country’s struggling post-Brexit economy through increasing productivity and improving efficiency.

It will also place a spotlight on the companies who are using tech as a driver for growth.
