Touker Suleyman joined Dragons’ Den in 2015 (series 13), bringing a raft of experience in the retail and manufacturing industries to the BBC show.
One of his more notable achievements is bringing fashion brand Hawkes and Curtis from the brink of bankruptcy to a thriving, multi-million pound business.
The tycoon was born in Cyprus in 1953 and didn’t speak a word of English upon his arrival at the age of five. Since then, he has honed his skills and in 2015, The Sunday Times Rich List estimated his fortune at around £200m. During his time on the Den, Suleyman has been known to be straight-talking, and has invested in companies including Chain Monkey, Liquiproof and Peachy Lean.
However in 2025, Suleyman was criticised for offering Lucie MacLeod £190,000 in exchange for 3% of her flourishing business Hair Syrup – but only if he got all his money back after three months and kept the shares.
