The CFO of accesso Technology Group plc has lost her fight with cancer.
Fern MacDonald passed away on 12th August following an “unflinching battle” with the disease, the company stated.
In a notice to the London Stock Exchange, Steve Brown, accesso CEO, said: “We are heartbroken at the passing of Fern, our beloved colleague and dear friend. Her commitment to her work and dedication to our team inspired all of us to strive for excellence.
“On a personal level, she was my trusted advisor with incredible intelligence and unmatched determination. She faced this health challenge with the same unyielding courage and strength that we all admired in her.
“I feel fortunate to have worked alongside her and she will be profoundly missed. Our hearts go out to her husband, son, and her entire family.”
Bill Russell, accesso non-executive chairman, said: “On behalf of the accesso board I would like to express my sincere condolences to Fern’s family.
“Quite apart from being a model CFO she was an outstanding person whose contribution to the company was immeasurable. She will be sorely missed by all.”
Matthew Boyle, the group’s current VP finance, will assume the role of interim CFO effective immediately. He has been with the company for five years, serving two of those as Ms. MacDonald’s deputy.
Headquartered in Berkshire, accesso provides virtual queuing technology and point-of-sale and ticketing software to top attractions around the world.
