Smart contract blockchain platform Ethereum was boosted by 7% in the last 24 hours as the cryptocurrency market hit $2.2 trillion.

At the time of writing (7am UK), the ETH token, the world’s second most valuable crypto, is now just below $3,650 and up 4% over seven days.

Cardano (ADA), the third most valuable crypto, is at $2.47 after climbing 4%. The proof-of-stake blockchain platform is where it was a week ago.

Binance Coin (BNB) also climbed around 4%, taking it to $432. It is 4% up in a week.

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) rose 3% to $48,350. The original cryptocurrency is 4% up over seven days.

Early Wise duo launch investment app Lightyear

In the battle for sixth spot in the valuation league table, XRP pulled further away from Solana thanks to a 3% rise.

Ripple’s coin, now worth $52.2 billion, stands at $1.12 and is 1% up on its price last Thursday.

SOL fell 1% to $159 and is 24% down in a week. Its market capitalisation is now $47.3bn.

Polkadot (DOT) dropped 2% to below $36, but the proof-of-stake crypto is 23% up in a week.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 2% for the second day running to 24.5 cents and is 4% down on its price last Thursday.

Ren (REN) was the biggest winner, gaining more than 30% in the last 24 hours. It is more than 60% up over seven days. Horizen (ZEN) added 26% and is 32% up in a week.

The cryptocurrency market is at $2.2 trillion, with the 11,900 coins gaining 3.6% value in the last 24 hours.
