The price of leading cryptocurrency XRP leapt 11% in 24 hours while the other majors barely moved.
At the time of writing (7am UK), Ripple’s coin is at 71 cents after rising 7c since Wednesday morning. It has added a quarter in value in a week.
Bitcoin has held its position just above $40,000 after leaping 8% in the previous 24-hour period.
Rumours at the weekend of a potential move by Amazon to accept payments in BTC had sent collective crypto prices soaring, moving BTC away from the $30,000 trap door which is considered by many to be a benchmark if there is to be another crypto winter.
Like the world’s most valuable digital currency – which is 26% up over seven days – the other top 8 coins gained less than half a percentage point from Wednesday to Thursday.
Ether (ETH) remains around $2,300 and is 17% up in a week, while Binance Coin (BNB) is up 9% over seven days with a price of $315.
Cardano (ADA) remains at $1.28 with a seven-day price which is up 11%.
Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) is just below 21c and 9% higher than its price seven days ago.

The cryptocurrency market gained just over 0.5% in value in the last 24 hours, with the 11,000 coins worth a collective $1.55 trillion.
