A digital agency half-owned by Manchester United legend Gary Neville has fought off stiff competition to redesign the website of London’s South Bank.

Manchester-based e3creative won the tender ahead of 49 other agencies, including several from abroad.

It will help Londoners and tourists organise their visit to the cultural district, which includes the London Eye, Southbank Centre, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and National Theatre, through a “revolutionary online platform”.

Sky Sports pundit Neville bought into award-winning e3creative, which was founded in 2010 and counts Ascot among its clients, last November.

“We believe in their ability to deliver our vision for a new destination website,” said Claudio Giambrone, head of marketing for South Bank London.

“We were extremely impressed with their technical skills, eye for striking design, and, perhaps most importantly, unfettered enthusiasm for this new challenge.”

The South Bank welcomes 20 million visitors per year and boasts some of the capital’s most attractive festivals, designer shops and restaurants.

e3creative managing director Jake Welsh said: “We are absolutely delighted to be joining hands with South Bank London and to have the creative freedom to work with one of London’s top cultural and tourism districts.

“Our team’s strategies are always focused towards creating cutting-edge digital solutions that ultimately enhance the user experience.

“We look forward to applying modern technologies, to create a frontline digital hub for South Bank, with clean and interactive elements geared at strengthening user’s journeys.”

The revamped website will be finished by the end of the year and help visitors personalise their time on the South Bank.
