Chartered insurance broker Konsileo has completed a £5 million equity investment to support its continued growth.
The latest equity financing was led by long-term shareholders Committed Capital, together with ACF Investors.
The independent broker launched in 2017 and today employs more than 220 people, arranging more than £85 million in annual insurance premiums for businesses across the UK.
Its central promise is that its brokers will be the happiest, best rewarded and most professional in the industry.
It delivers this with an organisation designed to empower risk professionals to focus on their clients. The flat structure replaces bosses with coaching, while Konsileo’s reward structure recognises value created from client relationships, and it invests heavily in training through the Konsileo Academy.
The business has built its own broking platform which automates administrative tasks, embeds compliance checks and helps brokers to capture better-quality risk information.
“We’ve always believed that great brokers do their best work when you give them autonomy, equip them properly and support them rather than manage them,” said CEO John Warburton (pictured), who co-founded the firm with COO Peter Henderson.
“Our growth is a testament to what happens when you offer something genuinely different to ambitious brokers who want to build brilliant client relationships.
“This investment means we can keep attracting great people, investing in our platform and building on the momentum we’ve created as we approach our 10th anniversary.
“We’re delighted to have the continued support of both Committed Capital and ACF Investors, who understand both our model and our ambitions for the business.”
Steven Harris, CEO of Committed Capital, said: “We are delighted to have completed this round and to deepen our long-standing commitment to Konsileo.
“John, Peter and the team have built one of the fastest-growing independent brokers in the UK, and they have done it organically, broker by broker, rather than through acquisition.
“That growth rests on two things that are very hard to replicate: a proprietary broking platform that strips out administration, embeds compliance and is now putting AI to work for brokers, and a culture that consistently attracts the most talented people in the industry.
“Konsileo is showing what a modern commercial broker looks like, and we look forward to supporting the team through its next phase of growth.”
Tim Mills, managing partner at ACF Investors, said: “Konsileo continues to bring much-needed innovation to commercial insurance broking, combining smart technology with a model that empowers brokers to deliver a better service for clients.
“Since our initial investment in 2022, the business has built significant momentum, demonstrating the strength and scalability of its approach. We’re excited to continue supporting John and the team as they enter their next phase of growth.”
