GLAS, an independent global provider of loan administration services, has appointed Sairam Rangachari as chief product & technology officer – a newly created role on the executive team.
Rangachari will lead the global product, technology and AI strategy, turning GLAS’s transaction data and market expertise into products clients use directly.
His first priority is a platform built on safe agentic workflows: automating the document-heavy work of loan administration and giving clients direct access to their own transaction data.
He joins the London-headquartered firm from Temenos, where he was chief product officer and head of AI, leading product and AI strategy for one of the world’s largest banking software providers. He previously co-founded the FinTech business Tandym and held senior leadership roles at JP Morgan and Capital One.
Mia Drennan founded GLAS in 2011 with £6k of capital and secured strategic investment from Oakley Capital and La Caisse earlier this year in a £1 billion+ deal. She recently won the EY’s UK Entrepreneur of the Year and featured on BusinessCloud’s Founder 250 list.
With over $920bn of assets under administration, GLAS has an established international presence, with offices in the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
“Sairam brings exactly the combination of entrepreneurialism, financial services experience and technological expertise we need to build the next generation of GLAS,” said Drennan.
“Technology has always been central to how we solve complex client problems, and Sairam’s appointment turns that into a durable advantage.”
Rangachari added: “Loan administration still runs on information trapped in documents and email, and clients wait days for answers that should take seconds. GLAS administers some of the most complex transactions in the market, and nobody understands that work better.
“I am excited to put that expertise into the platform: AI that gives every client a live view of their own transactions.”
The appointment comes as GLAS marks 10 years in the US market, having opened its New York office in 2016. Over the past decade the business has expanded its US offering from loan agency into a full-service debt administration and corporate trust platform, supporting clients across increasingly large and complex transactions.
Recent mandates include acting as administrative agent and collateral agent on xAI’s $5 billion senior secured term loan facility, supporting The LYCRA Company’s emergence from Chapter 11 across a number of agency and trustee roles, and partnering with QVC on its recent $600m senior secured credit facility.
