Liverpool-founded sportswear brand Montirex has delivered another year of impressive growth, reporting turnover of £129.3 million for the year ending 31st December 2025.
The performance represents a 79% increase on the previous year (£72.3m). Profit before tax was £34.5m, up from £19.6m the previous year.
The firm said growth was driven by strong demand across consumer and wholesale channels, increasing sales across European markets and the continued expansion of its product offering.
During the year, the brand strengthened its position in the running and training categories through the expansion of its MTX Run range, while investing in more technical products through collaborations with performance fabric specialists including Polartec.
Founded by friends Daniel Yuen and Kieran Riddell-Austin in 2019, Montirex has built a loyal customer following by focusing on technical performance, product quality and accessible pricing. They featured on our inaugural Founder 250 list this year.
The latest results show the brand continuing to scale at pace while maintaining strong profitability. Gross margin increased to 50%, up from 47% in the prior year, reflecting close supplier partnerships, disciplined sourcing and operational efficiencies across the business.
“When we started Montirex, our ambition was simply to create high-performance sportswear that looks great and remains accessible,” said Riddell-Austin. “Seeing our business grow to more than £129m in revenue has been incredible and it’s an achievement that reflects the loyalty of our customers as well as the commitment of our growing team.
“What’s particularly exciting is seeing the brand reach new audiences. Over the past year we’ve expanded our product offering across running, training and lifestyle categories, while also seeing strong demand from customers across Europe.
“As people increasingly discover Montirex through new channels and retailers, we’re evolving into a broader active lifestyle brand, which gives us real confidence for the next stage of growth.”
Montirex has continued to invest heavily throughout 2025, increasing its employee headcount from 66 to 111 as it expanded teams across marketing, product development and technology.
Significant investment was also made in digital infrastructure, including the implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to enhance forecasting, inventory management and operational efficiency.
Yuen added: “We’ve always believed that long-term success comes from balancing ambition with discipline.
“As we expand our reach further, our focus remains on delivering innovative products that we validate through our expanding roster of elite athletes, our community connection and cultural relevance.
“We know there are macroeconomic headwinds ahead but the opportunities are exciting and we’re confident that we’re in a strong position to continue the momentum.”
