Battery startup Nexeon has secured backing from the National Wealth Fund as part of a £100 million funding round.
The National Wealth Fund has committed £52.6m, with other new investors in the round including the Korea Development Bank and Honda Xcelerator Ventures.
Nexeon, headquartered in Abingdon near Oxford, is developing silicon anode materials which enable production of higher energy density lithium-ion batteries, helping to reduce charging times and extend the range of electric vehicles.
