SCALE has appointed Amy Knight as chief communications officer and director.
Knight has been promoted from her previous role as communications director and has also become a shareholder in the business.
The move recognises Knight’s contribution to SCALE’s development, including her work founding and developing its female-focused platform, Women Who Scale.
Shortly after joining SCALE, Knight launched Women Who Scale to help address the funding gap facing female founders and connect women-led businesses with the capital, connections and expertise they need to scale.
The platform creates opportunities for female founders, investors and allies through events, masterclasses, networking and investor introductions.
Knight’s previous experience spans business, entrepreneurship, media and communications. Before joining SCALE, she was lead writer and spokesperson at financial comparison website NerdWallet UK, while previous roles at the National Enterprise Network and Transmit Startups, formerly a leading delivery partner of the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans scheme, focused on business finance, entrepreneurship and supporting SME growth.
The appointment comes as SCALE prepares to host its first Manchester summit at Freight Island on 25th November 2026, following its flagship London event in April.
Knight is working closely on the Manchester event, which will bring together founders, investors and business leaders, and includes a live Female Founders Pitch Competition.
Knight is leading the development of the event’s on-stage programme, which will combine founder-led discussions, investor insight, practical masterclasses and opportunities to connect founders with the people who can make a meaningful difference.
