Contollo Group has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Matthew Mackey FRICS as director.
The firm says it signals a major step in the group’s ambition to redefine the UK construction consultancy market.
Mackey joins Contollo following nearly three decades in senior commercial leadership roles across the UK and Australia, bringing deep expertise in cost planning, procurement reform, benchmarking, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) strategy, digital transformation and commercial leadership.
His advisory work spans major programmes and developments across healthcare, aviation, commercial offices, sport, education, retail banking and infrastructure in both the UK and Australia.
Mackey most recently spent nine years with Arcadis in Australia, where he established and led the Australian Cost Management business, growing it from a single consultant to a national team of more than 25 specialists.
Mackey said: “Moving from a global corporate giant to a company such as Contollo is a great opportunity. The market is calling for agility, commercial realism, accountability and direct access to experienced leadership.
“That’s exactly why I joined Contollo. We have the capability to go toe to toe with the major global players, combined with the speed, flexibility and entrepreneurial drive that large corporates struggle to maintain.
“My focus is clear: unite our specialist teams into one high‑performing platform, accelerate national growth, and make Contollo a household name in construction consultancy.”
Contollo Group CEO Ruth Percival, who was recently included on our Founder 250 list, said: “Matthew is one of the most progressive commercial leaders in the industry. His appointment reflects our ambition to build a consultancy platform that combines specialist expertise with modern, value‑driven delivery.
“He brings the strategic clarity, industry influence and commercial leadership needed to accelerate our growth and challenge the status quo.”
