Applied Nutrition, the fast-growing sports nutrition, health and wellness brand, is creating another 20 jobs.
It follows the news that the company has secured a long-term lease on a new 53,000 sq ft facility on Knowsley Industrial Estate, which will be called K53.
Applied Nutrition was founded by Tom Ryder, who was recently included in BusinessCloud’s inaugural Founder 250 list.
Ryder is completely self-made. He grew up on a council estate in Liverpool and left school with no formal business qualifications.
He began a scaffolding apprenticeship with Liverpool City Council, but the keen fitness enthusiast identified a gap in the market for supplements, which provided the catalyst for Applied Nutrition.
In March 2026, the company secured planning permission from Knowsley Council for a new 84,000 sq ft global distribution centre and corporate headquarters.
Construction started immediately and will increase the company’s total operational footprint to more than 204,000 sq ft.
The new distribution centre and corporate headquarters have been designed to support accelerating demand across UK and international markets.
A spokesman for Applied Nutrition said of K53: “The new site represents another significant investment in our infrastructure and future growth, giving us additional capacity as we continue to scale the business both in the UK and internationally.
“K53 will also create 20 new jobs, further growing our team and supporting our long-term ambitions. A big milestone for the business, and another exciting chapter in the Applied Nutrition journey.”
K53 comes with its own secure, self-contained yard, first-floor offices and 55 car parking spaces.
Applied Nutrition, which has Coleen Rooney as an investor and brand ambassador, is approaching a £1bn market cap.
