Quint Group, a FinTech group focused on credit and payments, has appointed FinTech leader Laurence Krieger as a director.
Formerly CEO of Tide and COO at Revolut, Krieger will now formally join Quint Group to work in close partnership with founder and CEO Greg Cox and the rest of the board to accelerate the growth of the group’s portfolio businesses.
He will also shape its emerging M&A strategy as Quint explores aggregation opportunities across payments and credit.
It is the latest in a series of high-profile hires at Quint Group, following Eline Blomme (ex-TrueLayer and Worldline) and Lee Clifton (ex-Stripe and JP Morgan) at recurring payments business Acquired.com, Emma Steeley (two successful exits to ClearScore and Equifax in four years) at real-time credit intelligence business Infinian, and Matt Trueman (ex-Blenheim Chalcot and Equifax) at consumer credit business Cred.
Last year the group sold Monevo to TransUnion for $90 million.
Krieger is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading fintech and digital banking executives. He was an early senior leader at Revolut, serving as COO during a period of rapid growth and international expansion, before joining Tide from the startup stage, where he held senior C-suite roles and became CEO in early 2021.
At Tide, he played a key role in scaling the business into one of the world’s largest SME banking platforms. He now sits on the boards of several leading FinTech and financial services businesses, including Vocalink, a Mastercard company, Coinbase UK, Enfuce and Chip.
“We’re in a new era of FinTech, which feels very different from the last 10 years,” said Cox. “We believe aggregation and AI represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Quint’s platform, which is ideally placed to take advantage of the context that exists.
“I am extremely excited to have someone with Laurence’s experience and expertise join our board to help us execute on this opportunity and the next phase of the group’s journey.”
Krieger added: “Having been a keen follower of its phenomenal success so far, I’m incredibly excited to help Quint Group meet the huge potential it has.
“Greg’s focus and financial discipline have become ingrained in the firm’s DNA, and I’m looking forward to working closely with him to help fulfil Quint’s enormous potential as a leader of businesses in payments and credit.”
