Bruntwood VR tour gives glimpse of the office of the future

Technology

Office space provider Bruntwood has given a futuristic glimpse at its ‘most evolved collaborative workspace ever’, Neo, which is still months from completion.

Still under development, it is set to open in early 2017, on the Manchester city centre site formerly known as Bank House.

A VR viewing experience that allows users to explore the building while it is still under development has already secured Bruntwood its first customer.

You can watch a member of the BusinessCloud team taking a tour of the office in the video below.

The 12-story office space, on Portland Street, is being fully refurbished and reimagined to create a home for a contemporary work culture.

Following the launch of the VR tour, Bruntwood has announced the first letting for Neo – The Penketh Group, who will take the eighth floor in full.

Neo will also have a £250k digital art space installed in the lobby, designed by renowned designer and artist Brendan Dawes.

Fermata will feature a dynamic series of regularly changing exhibitions from established and emerging artists, initially curated in-house, and later by guest curators and those working at Neo.

There is currently an open call for submissions across moving and static image, live or data streams, or sound and VR.

Peter Crowther, Bruntwood’s Property Director, said: “In a world that’s forever changing, where technology is becoming increasingly prevalent, the property viewing experience is evolving to meet customer expectations.

“Bruntwood is always looking for innovative ways to improve the customer experience and while physical viewings will always be important to get a sense of scale, virtual reality can really bring the space to life before it exists.”

Customers will be able to make use of the virtual reality technology on-site at Neo using Samsung Gear headsets, off-site via a smart phone with a virtual reality cardboard viewer or by visiting bruntwood.co.uk/neo where the tour can be viewed on screen.
