A Manchester-based SaaS business is set to shut down after two years in operation.

GhostPosts.ai, founded by tech industry veterans Liam Brennan and Paul Wilshaw, will close on September 3rd due to the duo having less time to dedicate to the business.

The business was started by the pair as ‘a side hustle’ and leverages language learning models (LLMs) and other forms of AI technology for digital content creation.

The aim of the firm was to create an inclusive and accessible platform that caters to a diverse range of users while promoting environmental responsibility and transparency.

Social posts were generated in seconds, increasing efficiency and reducing carbon footprint.

Its AI tools aimed to help founders by ghost writing content such as blog posts, advertising scripts and grant funding applications.

Brennan, a neurodiverse entrepreneur, even teamed up with Lancaster University to develop the company’s tools.

However, yesterday the company confirmed that it would shut for good and, in a last gesture of goodwill, donate all profits to a UK digital inclusion charity.

“Closing a chapter today. Paul and I are winding down GhostPosts.ai on 3rd September,” said Brennan on LinkedIn.

“First time building a SaaS product. First time running a business.

“We learned fast, iterated with enthusiasm and met a brilliant bunch of people along the way.

“We’re donating all profits to a UK digital inclusion charity, because access matters.

“If you’ve a strong recommendation, I’m listening. If you used GhostPosts – THANK YOU.”

Wilshaw added: “It was a great little app and adventure, however… It’s with a heavy heart that today we announced that we’re closing the doors on GhostPosts.ai.

“It was a real adventure and a pleasure to work with Liam Brennan – we created a brilliant company together and put our own values of inclusivity, accessibility, usability and climate change to AI and gave everyone a level playing field – without having the in-depth knowledge of prompting to get something meaningful in return.

“Over the last few months we’ve both had less and less time to dedicate to Ghost Posts so we’ve decided to wind up the business.

“Thank you to all our supporters and customers. We are so humbled and grateful that you chose our app.

“While I dedicate more time to Designed for Humans LTD I will forever have the fond memories of Ghosty and wrangling a product into the world.”
