Vypr has appointed Sam Gilding as international chief revenue officer as the Manchester-based product intelligence platform expands in new markets.

In April, Vypr – star of our recent MarTech 50 ranking – raised a further £4m from specialist private equity firm YFM, taking combined investment to date to over £13m. This funding is accelerating Vypr’s expansion into international markets and adjacent sectors.

The investment followed the recent expansion of services into the US, Australia, and new European markets.

Gilding, previously sales & marketing director, joined Vypr in 2020, with annual UK new business sales having quadrupled in that time. In his new role, he will head up the international team as the business expands its customer base in new markets.

He is joined by two senior internal promotions for lead business development managers for global markets, and a further two external hires dedicated to international growth.

“We’re at a critical stage of growth where it’s essential we have the right people in place to achieve our plans,” said Gilding.

“Our international expansion is underpinned by our team’s deep-rooted retail industry knowledge and the insight we have from supporting global brands and retailers like Kraft Heinz, Red Bull, and Starbucks.

“Our strategy is to promote from within our brilliant team and bring in those with new skills that will propel us forward.”

One of the external hires is Josh Leung, recently appointed as demand generation specialist for global markets. Leung has worked across a variety of marketing functions for Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses including BrightHR, with experience spanning lead nurture, digital acquisition, and campaign strategy.

He said: “This is the perfect role for me as I have previously led a team to deliver growth strategies across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. It’s such an exciting time to join Vypr and I’m looking forward to working on the frontline of our international expansion.”
