SoftOrbits is a photo editing software development company founded in 2006 by Eugene Ustinenkov. Initially a tiny startup that focused on developing small-scale single-feature utilities, nowadays SoftOrbits has now carved its own niche in the industry, providing users with the most convenient tools to deal with tedious and repetitive editing tasks.

Recently, SoftOrbits released 10 web versions of its most prominent utilities, and that resulted in a massive success — not only did the number of active users increase, but the downloads also went up significantly. Considering that SoftOrbits serves over 300,000 users and boasts more than a million yearly downloads, one can imagine just how impactful the release really was.

“We believe that this success is a consequence of us providing a new way to use our tools, which significantly increases convenience and quickly finds new audiences without any detrimental effect on our current user base. This serves as a great example of how diversifying the range of available platforms can have a bigger impact than releasing a new tool or adding extra functionalities,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits and AlarmFront.

As Ustinenkov adds, that doesn’t mean that the team is going to slow down with developing extra features for their existing software — it is mostly about the focus and priorities for the upcoming months. SoftOrbits is still highly invested in its new AI-powered tools and believes that they will only become increasingly valued in the future.

“We are considering going full SaaS at some point, but the hybrid model suits us great for now. We like offering multiple options instead of doing the opposite, even if some options are generally considered superior. For now, we want to continue releasing more online versions of our utilities and increase mobile accessibility, which is of high priority to us due to how massive the demand for mobile photo editing software is,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits with more than 10 years of software development expertise.

With a strong emphasis on increasing convenience and accessibility for its audience, SoftOrbits plans to increase its pool of web-based utilities and make necessary adjustments based on user feedback to ensure the best possible experience.

“We have already received a ton of positive feedback, but there are still some areas that require a bit of extra work to make these tools even more helpful, which is what we intend to focus on for now. However, there are lots of other exciting developments on the horizon, so stay tuned with our updates,“ says Hannes Jansen, writer and editor at SoftOrbits.
