A stellar line-up of speakers is set to light up FUEL Liverpool next week.
Attendees for the breakfast event – which you can register for here – will hear successful entrepreneurs and other key figures from the tech ecosystem discuss the business landscape with award-winning host Chris Maguire, executive editor of BusinessCloud.
Stephen Smullen has grown Knowsley-based PB Group – which includes Protein Bargain Wholesale and five other brands – into a £30m turnover business in just five years and with zero investment. He is targeting £100m turnover by 2030.
He will be joined by Michelle Laithwaite, CEO and co-founder of fast-growing premium meal prep delivery business FuelHub, which is based in Warrington.
Laithwaite founded FuelHub in 2019 with her former professional rugby league player husband James. It has powered over 168,000 athletes across 25 elite sports in the UK – including Chelsea FC, Fulham FC, Manchester United FC, Team GB and England Rugby Union.

Rob Sims, the exited founder of Nexus Telecommunications and a former CEO at Elite Group, has more than 25 years of experience in IT and technology, both from a UK and international perspective.
He founded Sum Vivas in Liverpool with Denise Harris to create AI-integrated digital humans that enhance customer experiences in the real world. The startup has already partnered with retail and leisure complex, Liverpool One, and is in discussions with several other related sites in the area.
Another entrepreneur set to speak is Scott Robertson, co-founder of Haulage Hub, the UK’s leading digital freight marketplace which aims to make the road haulage industry more efficient.
The other speakers are Adam Shore, director of Liverpool Business School at Liverpool John Moores University; Nicola Docking, MD of Poke Marketing; and Colin Greene, partner at Praetura Ventures.
