Dixon Jones of specialist marketing search engine Majestic was recognised as Birmingham’s outstanding tech individual of the year at the Silicon Canal Awards.
He was crowned in a ceremony at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre which celebrated the best technology entrepreneurs and companies in the Midlands.
The award goes to the person who the board of trade group and organisers Silicon Canal considers to have added the most value to the tech ecosystem over the last 12 months.
Jones became the marketing director of Majestic in 2009 and helped transform the SEO and digital world by providing large-scale link intelligence. Majestic is described as one of the largest web crawlers on the planet.
Established companies and rising stars were acknowledged at the second edition of the annual Greater Birmingham awards.
“The night was a blast,” said Molly Thompson, who co-hosted the awards with Raaj Shamji.
“The awards were proof of the ever-growing, collaborative community in Greater Birmingham, boasting a complete sell-out event.”
The region’s metro mayor Andy Street was a special guest.
