Winvia Entertainment, a tech business focused on prize draw competitions and online gaming, has entered into a partnership with Aston Villa Football Club.

Under the partnership Winvia will develop ‘Villa Win’, a new regular prize draw competition for supporters with Villa-themed prizes and fan experiences.

This partnership marks Winvia brand BOTB’s first major B2B deployment of its prize draw technology.

BOTB will manage all operational, regulatory and technical requirements of the competition, which it says will be operated in line with the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.

For Villa, it says the partnership will generate a new, scalable source of revenue that can be reinvested into the club’s long-term growth and can support the club’s ongoing investment in community activities.

“Winvia’s platform and expertise will allow us to create more fan engagement opportunities through our new Villa-themed prize draws,” said Francesco Calvo, president of business operations at Aston Villa.

“It will not only allow us to interact with our supporters in a fun and different way, but any revenues generated can be reinvested in a number of ways including our many community schemes.”

New Aston Villa contract is not a gamble

Gil Barel, head of strategic partnerships and M&A at Winvia Entertainment, added: “Villa Win is a strong example of the partner-led opportunities that we are confident our platform is built to support and represents another step in delivering the strategy we set out at IPO.

“Aston Villa has a powerful brand and a highly engaged supporter base and has recognised the opportunity for prize draws to bring supporters together in a fun and engaging way.

“For Winvia, this partnership demonstrates how we can apply our platform into new channels with established audiences. We are confident that this model has the potential to scale across other clubs and sports organisations and become an increasingly important part of the group’s long-term growth strategy over time.”
