Founder 250

Tropic Skincare, the fast-growing beauty brand created by The Apprentice star Susie Ma, has just held its biggest-ever Glammies event.

The Glammies is the company’s annual Ambassador event and brings Tropic Skincare’s community together from across the UK under one roof.

This year’s event took place at the NEC Birmingham and was attended by 4,500 Ambassadors.

Ma has grown Tropic Skincare into a $100m+ revenue business and was included in BusinessCloud’s Founder 250 list.

She said: “Every year, this event is our chance to celebrate this incredible community: their achievements, their growth, the lives they’ve impacted, and everything we’ve built together.

“This year’s theme was Pure Imagination – aerialists, dancers, our brand-new festive collection, and plenty of surprises along the way.”

Ma revealed the event had raised more than £260,000 for its two partner charities – Women’s Aid and the young adult mental health charity Nessie.

The entrepreneur, who is expecting her second child in December, added: “To every Ambassador who travelled from near and far to be there: thank you. Thank you for your energy, your belief, your heart, and for making Tropic the community it is today.

“And to the huge team behind the scenes who brought it all to life – I’m so grateful.

“This is our biggest event of the year, and it just keeps proving what’s possible when a community builds something together.”

Born in Shanghai, Ma spent her early years in Australia before moving to the UK.

She attended Croydon High School and was just 15 when she recreated and sold her grandma’s body scrub recipe at Greenwich Market to help her mum pay the bills.

Ma gained national attention in 2011 when she appeared in the seventh series of The Apprentice at the age of 21.
