Trained actors manning Manchester call centre

A call centre staffed entirely by trained actors has opened its first northern headquarters at MediaCityUK in Salford.

RSVP Media Response, which employs 370 people in the London Docklands, has recruited an additional 50 agents in the North West – and expects to grow this by a further 100 within its first year.

Its new home in the Digital World Centre building will provide 5,000 sq. ft. of office space and is on the doorstep of the popular Lowry Outlet in Salford Quays.

“MediaCityUK is a vibrant and creative environment and it suits us perfectly to be so close to The Lowry Theatre, BBC North, ITV and the Coronation Street set,” said Mark Abernathy, managing director of RSVP Media Response.

“It will be great to have so many casting directors close by and they in turn will have easy access to our pool of actors.

“This is the perfect location for our actor agents, and also for our business growth.”

The Grade A-listed building will also be home to RSVP’s own theatrical agency, RSVP Artist, which will benefit both RSVP and the wealth of creative communities which are based in MediaCity.

Mark Robinson, head of asset management at MediaCityUK, said: “As MediaCityUK is set to double in size over the next ten years, we are keen to welcome thriving companies such as RSVP which will support our vision for growth and development.

“The Digital World Centre continues to attract exciting market leaders, and the addition of RSVP is particularly complementary, as its unique offering is an ideal fit with other media industry businesses at MediaCityUK.”

RSVP, which was formed 28 years ago, is enjoying exceptional year-on-year growth.

Its turnover in 2016 is forecast to be £14 million, rising to £15.5m in 2017.
