Steve Rotheram is the latest big-name speaker to be confirmed for BusinessCloud’s ‘What’s the future of Liverpool City Region?’ event.

The breakfast event on Wednesday 18th April will take place at The Contact Company’s offices in Kingsgate House on Grange Road East in Birkenhead.

The Liverpool City Region mayor will be speaking alongside The Contact Company chief executive Asif Hamid MBE; Peel Ports Group CEO Mark Whitworth; and Tom Dawes, group CEO at Valuechain.

Alison Mitchell, executive director at technical innovation centre Sensor City; and Colin Sinclair, chief executive of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, have also been confirmed.

The event will highlight the success of Liverpool’s growing economy and shine a light on the region’s best companies.

The city’s digital & creative; health & life sciences; and innovation sectors are now major employers, alongside advanced manufacturing, food & drink and the visitor economy. Energy has also been identified as a key sector, including tidal energy.

Liverpool has negotiated its own City Deal; Steve Rotheram was voted the first Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region; and the opening of Liverpool2 at the Port of Liverpool has raised the region’s profile on a global stage.

IFB 2018 takes place in June but what is the long-term future of the city region? How important are clusters to the region’s economy and who are the companies and the enablers to make that happen?

What role have the universities got in creating a centre of excellence for digital, creative and technology and does the city have the right property and infrastructure in place?

Those are among the key questions that our ‘What’s the future of Liverpool City Region?’ event will look to answer.
