A co-founder at Onfido has raised £30 million for his AI firm Isometric.
Eamon Jubbawy is aiming to bring agentic certification to the industrial economy and has been backed by AVP, Plural and Lowercarbon Capital, as well as angels John Doerr and Walter Kortschak, in a Series A round.
AVP counts global insurer AXA as an anchor investor.
“Put a tonne of green steel next to a tonne of conventional steel and you’ll struggle to tell them apart. How do you prove that a fuel is low-carbon, that energy was generated cleanly, or that carbon was removed from the atmosphere?” asked Jubbawy in a blog post. “The answer is certification.
“AI, automation and decarbonisation are driving a resurgence in the industrial economy. But every project needs to be certified against regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards before a buyer pays a premium, before a regulator grants a permit, or before an investor commits capital.
“For decades, certification has meant a manual process that could take 12 months or more, and the industrial economy has been held back by the belief that you can be fast or you can be accurate, not both. Our agentic certification platform, Certify, changes that.”
Certify’s AI agents read and cross-check the millions of data points behind a claim, from sensor readings and satellite imagery to supply chain records and lab results. Its agents flag discrepancies and surface the cases that need expert judgment, so the auditors who used to spot-check evidence can now cover it all in just a few hours.
“We proved this first in carbon removal, where Isometric is now the largest certification company, having been contracted for more than 16 million tonnes to date,” said Jubbawy.
“Our certification is relied upon by Microsoft, Anglo American, JPMorganChase, Boeing, and over 200 industrial projects around the world. This round makes Isometric the best-capitalised certifier in the carbon markets, and what comes next is the rest of the industrial economy.”
Blair McDougall, UK Minister for Economic Transformation, said: “Isometric is exactly the kind of frontier AI success story we want to see built and scaled in the UK – turning world‑leading ideas into global businesses that attract top international investment.
“This investment shows how, with the right support to access talent and scale, Britain can be the best place in the world to grow the next generation of world‑changing companies.”
François Robinet, managing partner at AVP, added: “Certification has always forced a choice between speed and rigor. Isometric has eliminated that compromise.
“Eamon and the team have built a genuinely category-defining company, and their agentic AI platform has the potential to transform certification across the industrial economy. We’re thrilled to partner with them as they scale that vision.”
