Qualified nurse Emma-Louise Fusari is one of 61 female founders to receive a £75,000 grant after being included in Innovate UK’s 2026 Women in Innovation cohort.
Innovate UK is supporting founders of businesses across manufacturing, digital technology and life sciences.
Of the 100 women recognised, 61 award winners will receive a £75,000 grant alongside 12 months of tailored business support, training, networking and mentoring opportunities.
A further 39 highly commended applicants will receive the same 12-month business support package.
Fusari, a nurse with 24 years’ experience, founded Manchester-based In-House Health after seeing colleagues and patients develop preventable illnesses because of unaddressed workplace risks.
She said: “Every year as a nurse, I see people become unwell because of things that are entirely preventable.
“Social care is losing good people every day, not because they don’t care, but because nobody is measuring the impact that the working environment is having on their health and wellbeing.
“This funding lets me build the technology that catches those risks early, before they cost a carer their long-term health, a provider its employees or people the care they deserve.”
