Several of the most valuable cryptocurrency coins gained in value over the weekend despite a late drop.

At the time of writing (7am UK), Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable crypto, added more than $150 to reach $2,560 and is 9% up in a week.

Binance Coin (BNB) is up 3% over seven days after an $11 gain over the weekend saw it reach $332.

Cardano (ADA) reached $1.33, a 3-cent rise since Friday, but its seven-day price is down 4%.

Ripple’s XRP coin dropped more than 1c over the weekend to sit below 74c. However it is 11% up in a week.

Market leader Bitcoin climbed back above $40,000 at the weekend before a 5% dip in the last 24 hours saw it drop below $40k again. However, it is 3% up over seven days.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) remains just below 21c and is 8% lower than its price seven days ago.

The cryptocurrency market was worth $1.57 trillion on Friday morning and is now at 1.60tr. However, the 11,000 coins collectively dropped 4% in the last 24 hours so investors will be hoping that trend reverses.
