Consulting and IT services provider NTT DATA has appointed Simon Williams as CEO of the firm’s UK operations.

Williams has been promoted to succeed Steve Mitchener, who retired from the UK business last month.

“I am privileged to have been asked to lead NTT DATA in the UK,” he said.

“We are built on a foundation of excellent delivery, strong teamwork and innovation and I am excited to continue working with such a talented team.

“As a business, we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships based around advisory services and strategic transformation.

“Our delivery quality has helped us grow by over 20 per cent year-on-year for the past four years and our focus on quality has helped ensure long-term, sustainable client relationships.

“NTT Data UK has a fantastic offering and I am excited to take on the role of CEO as our business continues to go from strength to strength.”

NTT DATA has business operations in more than 50 countries.

Williams started the consultancy Value Team in 2008 as CEO. Following NTT DATA’s acquisition of Value Team in 2012, he has worked as head of telco media, insurance consulting and digital.

His international experience includes working in 10 countries and launching operators in India and Hungary.

Patrizio Mapelli, NTT DATA CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa said: ‘I’m delighted that Simon has accepted the role.

“He will drive growth in the UK with consulting-led client engagement, enabling our clients to create value through technology innovation and transformational change.”
