London-based technology food business Feedr has been acquired by Berlin-based EatFirst.

Feedr, the developer behind Cloud Canteen, has been sold by Compass Group UK & Ireland for an undisclosed amount.

As part of the deal, Compass has secured a stake in EatFirst’s European business.

Feedr was acquired by Compass as it expanded its use of different technologies to provide food services to its customers. Compass and Feedr will continue their exclusive partnership in the UK.

EatFirst is a corporate food ordering platform. It says Feedr, founded in 2016 in London with a vision to use technology to transform office catering in London and make delicious, healthy food available to all, will be offered to its existing customers across Europe and Australia.

“We are thrilled to have acquired Feedr,” said EatFirst founder Adrian Frenzel. “We have always admired the company for the delight they create at their customers’ offices and its strong technological foundations.

“We are looking forward to offering our joint UK customer base an even larger and more refined service. In addition, we will expand Feedr’s offer to our European markets, where we see great potential for growth.

“It’s also been great to further strengthen our relationship with Compass.”
