VR specialists Laduma have recreated a 360° view of Ross Barkley taking a free kick at Everton’s training ground.

Although not a regular free kick taker for his club, the midfielder shows how he deals with the pressure of performing at the highest level – and mobile and desktop viewers can watch every angle.

In partnership with Sure, Laduma has described the clip as a ‘genuine industry first’.

Laduma CEO, Ben Smith commented: “To team up with a Premier League star and a well-respected global brand to create a piece of VR that gives fans unique and privileged access to one of their heroes was a huge challenge.

“We are a company built on creating ground-breaking VR content and this project was interesting to us because it was a genuine industry first.

“Anyone who watches will get a glimpse of what it’s like to stand in the shoes of a Premier League footballer.

“Ross took a keen interest in the technology and the end result. He was fantastic to work with.’

Sure Brand Manager Claudio Bellen added: “We were delighted to partner with Laduma on this unique piece of content showcasing Ross’s free-kick technique from previous unseen angles.

“We hope football fans will enjoy this short edit of one of England’s young talents showcasing his skill level.”
