Deliveroo has poached a new permanent chief financial officer from MoneySupermarket.

Scilla Grimble will join the company and its board ‘no later than June 2023’ – a full year from now – according to a London Stock Exchange update provided by the food delivery company.

Adam Miller, a former executive at the travel group Expedia, will step down from the CFO role and board on 17th September 2022.  Deliveroo has appointed David Hancock, currently VP investor relations at the company and former digital CFO at The Adecco Group, to serve as interim CFO from that date alongside continuing in his current role.

Miller joined Deliveroo in 2019 and oversaw its high-profile flotation as well as helping guide the company during COVID-19.

“It has been a privilege to work for Deliveroo. Now is the right time for change, both for me and Deliveroo. I am proud of everything that Deliveroo has achieved over the past few years,” said Miller.

Grimble has served in the CFO role at MoneySupermarket since 2019. She was previously interim CFO at Marks & Spencer, and also served as director, group finance at M&S.

She also held a range of senior finance and leadership roles at Tesco after spending 10 years at UBS where she was MD and head of consumer & retail investment banking EMEA.

Currently a non-executive director at Taylor Wimpey plc, she began her career at PwC.

“I am delighted to welcome Scilla to Deliveroo and the board is confident that her highly relevant skills and experience will help us to take advantage of the significant opportunities before us and will be invaluable as we continue to build our business,” said chair Claudia Arney.

“The board thanks Adam for all he has done for Deliveroo during his time here, from helping guide the business as VP of strategy to taking on the interim CFO role at a critical time, and then as CFO helping us through COVID and navigating the IPO.

“Adam has shown immense commitment and dedication to making Deliveroo successful.   We are grateful and pleased that Adam will be remaining in role until mid-September to ensure a smooth transition and wish him all the best for the future.”

Grimble added: “I am delighted to be joining Will and the team at Deliveroo. It’s an exciting opportunity to help build the definitive online food company and I look forward to working with the team as they drive the business forward to profitability.”

Peter Duffy, CEO of Moneysupermarket Group, said: “Scilla has made a significant contribution to the Group since 2019 and has been a valuable colleague to me since I became CEO in 2020. I am grateful for all she has done and wish her well in her new role.”
