Ethereum was one of the few major cryptocurrency coins to gain value as Avalanche dropped out of the top 10.

ETH, the world’s second most valuable crypto, is at $4,250 at the time of writing (7am UK) following a 3% gain in the last 24 hours.

The smart contract blockchain platform is 2% up in a week.

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) reached $56,500 following a slight increase in valuation, but it remains 5% down over seven days.

Cardano (ADA) shed 7% to $1.68, which leaves it 8% down in a week, whereas Binance Coin (BNB) gained 3% to reach $584 and is 3% higher than its price last Wednesday.

Solana (SOL) and Polkadot (DOT) both added 1% – to $218 and $39.50 respectively – and are 2% up and 2% down over seven days.

Ripple (XRP) remained relatively static in the last 24 hours at $1.04, which leaves it 4% down in a week.

Avalanche (AVAX) had entered the top 10 most valuable coins at the weekend after professional services giant Deloitte announced it would build a disaster relief platform on its blockchain.

A 10% fall in the last 24 hours leaves it at $119, still 25% up in a week, with a market cap of $26.6 billion.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) climbed back above 22 cents – and AVAX – with a 1% gain. It remains 6% down over seven days and has a market cap of $29.2bn.

Its Ethereum-based spinoff SHIBA INU (SHIB) shed 9% in the last 24 hours, which leaves it 17% down in a week. It has been overtaken in the market cap table by Crypto.com Coin (CRO), which reached 88c with a 14% gain and is around double its valuation a week ago.

The Sandbox (SAND) soared the most for a second consecutive 24-hour period – 27% this time – which puts it at $6.83 and more than double its valuation last Wednesday morning.

Audius (AUDIO), Zcash (ZEC) and XDC Network (XDC) all gained more than 20% and are 21%, 60% and 29% up respectively in a week.

Elrond was the only coin to lose more value than AVAX, SHIB and ADA in the last 24 hours. EGLD is at $459 following a 15% fall, but remains 56% up in a week.

The overall market cap of the more than 14,700 coins stands at $2.56 trillion, up 0.7% in the last 24 hours.
