Bitcoin (BTC) reached a record valuation amid a huge market rally which also saw Ethereum come close to an all-time record price.

The cryptocurrency market leader grew 2% in the last 24 hours to sit just below $65,000 at the time of writing (7am UK) but surged as far as $67,016 on Wednesday. It is 12% up in a week.

Smart contract blockchain platform Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable crypto, gained 9% to reach $4,176. It is 15% up over seven days.

An incredible 18% rally from Solana (SOL) saw it hit $183, leaving it 22% up in a week, while Cardano (ADA) added 8% to reach $2.27, leaving it 4% up on last Thursday’s price.

Binance Coin (BNB) gained 2%. The crypto created by exchange Binance, which aims to become the infrastructure services provider for the entire blockchain ecosystem, sits at $497 and is 5% up over seven days.

Ripple’s XRP climbed 4% to $1.14 and is slightly ahead of where it was this time last week.

Polkadot (DOT) grew 6% to $43.70 and is 6% up over seven days, while meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) picked up 3% to top 25 cents, which puts it 7% up over seven days.

The overall market cap of the more than 12,900 coins rose 4.3% in the last 24 hours to $2.63 trillion.
