The CFO of Sheffield-based data science and marketing agency Jaywing is to step down.

Caroline Ackroyd will also be stepping down as a director, with effect from April 2022, in order to pursue new opportunities.

Ackroyd, who only joined the company little over a year ago, is a former CFO at HealthTech Push Doctor.

She has also held senior positions at Sky Betting & Gaming and Coral Interactive.

Listed Jaywing, which employs 300 people in the UK and Australia, will now begin the search process for a new CFO.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Caroline for her contribution to the business, and for her part in its restructuring. We wish her all the best for the future,” said CEO Andrew Fryatt.

Does a growing business need both a CFO and CRO?

Jaywing works with a number of blue chip clients, including first direct, Castrol, PepsiCo, Mazda, HSBC and Yorkshire Water.

It has meanwhile taken over the remaining 25% of shares in Australian firm Frank Digital to now own 100% of the firm.

Frank Digital designs and develops digital products, websites and apps for both Australian and global clients, and has grown strongly since Jaywing acquired 75% of the business in 2018, doubling its EBITDA.

It will be merged with Massive Group and be known as Jaywing Australia – which Massive Group already trades under – under the continuing leadership of CEO Tom Geekie and CCO Matt Barbelli.

Fryatt added: “Since joining our group in 2018, Frank Digital has delivered strong growth in both revenue and EBITDA, through delivering award-winning design work that has won both national and global clients.

“Under Jaywing’s full ownership, we will now combine Frank Digital with our existing wholly-owned Australian business to offer a full-service integrated proposition in line with our UK marketing proposition.

“We are delighted to welcome the Frank Digital team fully into the group.”
